Job description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Senior Bookkeeper to join the team at our Head Office situated in Wigan.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Managing the transactional processing of the full sales ledger, oversight of the purchase ledger and full payroll. Inputting invoices, raising payments, resolving queries, taking payments, chasing payments as required,
- Processing intercompany financial transactions including coding and analysis.
- Ensuring the digital books are maintained to a high standard to enable the production of monthly financial reports for all companies
- Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial information.
- Calculating liabilities such as PAYE and VAT & ensuring RTI requirements are met.
- Liaising with and assisting external accountants to ensure that statutory deadlines for VAT, Annual Accounts and company and personal self-assessment are met.
- Liaising with HMRC and banking providers as required
- Providing other information, assistance, and explanations to external accountants as and when required
- Having a general oversight of the financial position of all companies
Job requirements
What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will have previous experience of working in a similar role within a similar finance setting. You will also have:
- Have excellent problem-solving, analytical and organisational skills
- AAT/CIMA Qualification
- PC literate in Word, Excel and Outlook – e.g. vlookups
- Must be capable of working well under pressure
- Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines
- Have the ability to identify and suggest improvements
- Be willing to take responsibility and accountability
- The ability to work with sensitive/confidential information
- Have a flexible and adaptable approach to working in order to meet the requirements of the business, particularly at peak periods during the year
- Have experience working alone and as part of a team
- Highly motivated to achieve and progress
